Cynthia J. Molle Memorial Award

This award is given to an outstanding student enrolled in a California BSRT program. This awardee will demonstrate the highest levels of academic success, leadership and enthusiastic support to the Respiratory profession as evidenced by active membership in the CSRC and the AARC. The recipient has volunteered their time as a CSRC board member either as an Officer, Director or Chair of a committee, or has actively participated on multiple committees. The financial award of $1,000 is awarded to one recipient annually at the CSRC Annual Convention.


Cynthia J. Molle, RRT, RCP, FAARC

Cynthia was originally from Long Island, New York, but became a longtime resident of the Inland Empire for more than 50 years and dedicated her life to the healthcare profession for nearly 40 years. She devoted her entire career to elevate the Respiratory Care profession.

Cynthia graduated from the Respiratory Care program at Victor Valley College, Victorville, CA, in 1975. She earned her RRT credential in 1979. In 1986 she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands, Redlands, CA. Her career path took her into leadership where she was the Director of Respiratory Care Services at Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Desert, CA, and later at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. Cynthia returned to Southern California where she finished her career as the EHR Application Specialist at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, CA.

CSRC & AARC Volunteer Work

Cynthia volunteered a great deal of her time to her professional associations, being a member of the AARC and CSRC for 39 years. She served on and chaired numerous committees and roles with both organizations. Cynthia was the CSRC Chapter II (Inland Empire) President and served as the CSRC President from 1985 – 1986. In 1991, she was elected CSRC Delegate to the AARC. Cynthia served on the AARC BOD from 1992 – 1995, Treasurer in 1996, and was elected President of the AARC in 1997, where she served three years as President elect, President, and Past President. 

California RCB Service

Cynthia was a founding member of the Respiratory Care Board of California. This accomplishment paved the way for the state of California to be the first state in the Union to license Respiratory Therapists. Cynthia served on the RCB from 1983 – 1992. Her CA RCP License number is 3.

Awards

She has received numerous awards throughout her career, including the AARC President’s award in 1987, Life member of both the CSRC and the AARC, and was awarded Fellow of the AARC (FAARC) in 2001. In 2018, Cynthia received the Outstanding Service Award from the CSRC Inland Empire Region in recognition and grateful appreciation for her extraordinary service and dedication to respiratory care.

All who knew her loved Cynthia Molle. She was fiercely loyal to herself, friends and to her profession. She cared deeply about making a positive impact and influence on those around her. She lived a life serving others and will be greatly missed. It is with great pleasure the CSRC has created this memorial award in her honor.
